Codes hospital Same Day Surgery records, Special Procedures records, 23 hour observation records, Emergency Room records, Lab registration sheets, Radiology registration sheets for the purpose of reimbursement, research and compliance with Federal regulations according to diagnosis(es), operation(s) and procedure(s) using ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 classification systems; analyzes and reviews records for accuracy and completeness. Codes patient records utilizing ICD and CPT coding systems. Reviews incomplete diagnosed charts. Codes Emergency Department and Wound Clinic records. Utilizes daily reports to minimize bill hold. Two years in a hospital setting. Coding certification preferred. Knowledge of ICD and CPT Coding Fundamentals. |
